Somaliland Diaspora Visits SUNSAT: A Partnership in Progress

Members of the Somaliland diaspora recently visited the Sheikh University of Natural Sciences and Technology (SUNSAT) in Sheikh, Sahil Region, to witness the remarkable progress of the university’s construction. The Somaliland diaspora is now actively fundraising to support SUNSAT’s construction—marking a new chapter in diaspora engagement with the university. The purpose of their visit was to observe the progress firsthand and report back to the diaspora communities they represent, while accelerating the fundraising campaign.

They were warmly received by the University Establishment Committee, the body overseeing the construction and overall implementation of the university.

Together, we are building a brighter future for Somaliland’s next generation and the wider Horn of Africa.
